  • Regional platform

Cambodia

  • Japan is not the first country of choice for migrant workers, so remedy information is not widely shared amount migrant workers.
  • Gov working to advance migrant protection by setting a service desk in Japan, etc

Indonesia

  • Two government entities handling migration to Japan. TITP by MoM, SSW by BP2MI. Ministerial transition is in progress.

  • Advanced initiative on fair and ethical recruitment.

More learnings

  • Lengthy state-based remedy process, Expensive judiciary process
  • Not sufficient information sources in Local Languages
  • Prevalence of Unlicenced agents and brokers
